Chlamydia PCR Test in Urine

Chlamydia diagnosis is performed using the Geno Quick CT method (Polymerase Chain Reaction – PCR).

Urine Collection Instructions (for both men and women)

Before sample collection, the urine container must be labeled with

  • Patient’s first and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Date and time of urine collection

Instructions

  • Do not perform any hygienic procedures before urine collection.
  • Open the sterile urine container.
  • Do not touch the inner surface of the container or lid.
  • Collect the first portion of the first morning urine directly into the container — no less than 10 ml and no more than 20 ml.
  • After collecting the urine, close the lid tightly.
  • The sample should be delivered to the laboratory within 1 hour of collection.
  • If delivery within 1 hour is not possible, store the sample in a refrigerator at 2–8°C for up to 24 hours.
  • If transportation will take longer than 24 hours, the sample must be frozen at -20°C.
